Dear Mayor Maddox and Members of City Council:
I want a meaningful opportunity to learn about and be involved in land development decisions which impact my neighborhood. Mandatory meetings between those planning development projects and the surrounding neighbors will allow issues to be identified and addressed early and will result in applications which are more responsive to neighborhood concerns. This will expedite the process and save administrative time.
This form of citizen involvement will help develop a sense of partnership between neighborhoods and
the development community.
I support the proposed ordinance that Tuscaloosa Neighborhoods Together, Inc. has submitted to you which would make neighborhood meetings a requirement and I request that you support it and facilitate its passage as soon as possible.
