Dear Mr. Bell,
I write to express my concern regarding the credibility of Today Show guest Chef Terrance Brennan, who is next scheduled to appear on your show on October 14. After being informed that his restaurant was serving seafood from a supplier that had seriously violated workers' rights, Chef Brennan's Artisanal Bistro stated in writing that it was no longer serving products from the offending company, Wild Edibles Inc.
Artisanal Bistro was subsequently exposed for continuing to serve Wild Edibles products by Brandworkers, a non-profit organization advocating for quality jobs in the retail and food sectors. In fact, Artisanal had never stopped serving Wild Edibles. Simply put, Terrance Brennan's enterprise lied. After being exposed for the deception, Chef Brennan admitted in a Sept. 2, 2008 press statement that his restaurant continued to serve Wild Edibles seafood.
By failing to honor his word and continuing to serve seafood from a company which has not respected workers' rights, it is my opinion that Chef Terrance Brennan lacks the trustworthiness that Today Show viewers expect of guest commentators. I look forward to hearing back from you on this very serious matter. Thank you very much.
