Dear Honorable Members of the City Council,
The fate of St. John's Episcopal Church is in your hands and I am asking you to landmark this endangered site. St. John's, built in 1871, is worthy of landmark designation, as unanimously recommended by the Jersey City Historic Preservation Commission and the Jersey City Planning Board.
The designation of this stately English Gothic edifice is a critical step for the revitalization of Bergen Hill and will be a source of great pride in the community. We deserve to hold on to our heritage, and I am asking you to vote YES at the upcoming special St. John's landmark designation meeting.
