Subject: Answer public questions about U.S. drone missile attacks

Your Personal Statement

Dear Secretary of State Hillary Clinton:

I urge you to directly address public questions regarding U.S. drone missile strikes in Pakistan. Media outlets have reported that you recently avoided students' questions regarding these missile attacks during your visit to Pakistan.

U.S. drone missile attacks are widely reported on in both U.S. and Pakistani media. They are not a government secret. They have killed many innocent Pakistanis and resulted in significant Pakistani anger at the U.S.

New America Foundation scholars conservatively stated that one-third of those killed by U.S. drone missile strikes have been Pakistani civilians -- approximately 300 innocent people. Earlier this year, a counter-insurgency adviser to General David Petraeus said that 98% of those killed were civilians.

It is reasonable for Americans and Pakistanis to ask tough questions about these attacks. You should be willing to answer them.

Sincerely,
