Your Personal Statement
Please vote NO to Panera's special permit request. The spirit of the Newton "Village" concept and it's independent business model is at stake. Panera belongs on Route 9, not in Newton Centre or any of it's villages. A Panera of the scale being proposed would seriously impact the pedestrian experience. If there are extra seats to be had, let's give them to the local and smaller businesses that are already here, or to other merchants who might like to join the mix.
We, as a community, have the power to say "NO," and we should utilize this. As a public servant who represents my community I implore you to vote NO.
