Is this the kind of hope and change your party spoke about during the last election?
What ever happened to bipartisanship?
Polls consistently show that Americans don't support the current bill, yet now you are threatening to use the so-called "nuclear option" to abuse the rules of the Senate to force through this health care bill?
We deserve better, Senator Durbin.
We urge you to go back to the drawing board on health care reform, to work with your Republican colleagues to draft a truly bipartisan bill that brings this country together.
Your comments to ABC News harm the faith of Illinoisans in our government. Your threats to use the "nuclear option" do the same.
If you and your fellow Democrats use partisan, political trickery to force this bill through to the President's desk, you will have abused your office, and the faith of the Illinois taxpayers.
I urge you to reconsider your comments and your tactics on health care reform.
