Under Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s (GMA’s) administration, we have seen hundreds of extrajudicial killings and abductions, increased political repression, severe corruption and plunder, and deteriorating socio-economic conditions for the Filipino people.

As a response GMA Watch: A Network for Human Rights, Government Accountability, and Justice in the Philippines was created and has been officially launched on December 10,2007 - International Human Rights Day. GMA Watch aims to build a broad-based coalition to monitor the administration of Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo or GMA and to hold it accountable for ongoing human rights violations, and an ever-worsening economic and political crisis in the Philippines.
